Teacher’s Day is celebrated on 5th September of every year. On this day we appreciate our teachers and honor them for their contribution to society. 5th September is the birth anniversary of a former president of India and a great teacher, Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was a popular teacher among their students because of his friendly nature and great teaching methods. Once his students and friends requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday in a lavish way with great pomp and show but he refused and told them that it would be his pride and honor if they celebrate his birthday in respect of all teachers. And since then every year his birthday i.e 5th September is celebrated as Teacher’s Day in India.

What is Teacher’s Day? It is the day to show your gratitude towards your Teacher’s who showed you the right path of success not only in the field of education but in life too. 

Importance of Teacher’s Day : By celebrating the event of Teacher’s day in schools and colleges helps to strengthen the relationship between Student and Teachers. We need to support and encourage our Teacher’s, after all, they have the responsibility of creating a great society in the future by nurturing their students so that they become a good student and human being as well.

How Teacher’s Day is Celebrated in India :On this day there are many cultural activities are planned by students in schools and colleges. Activities like dancing, singing, speech, mimicry are performed by students. Students also organized games for teachers also like chair racing, antakshari, chess, carom to entertained them too.
