“Jana Gana Mana” was declared as the national anthem of the Republic of India on 24 Jan 1950. Rabindranath Tagore composed this song in Bengali under his writing “Bharoto Bhagyo Bidhata”. In 1950 the first stanza of Bharoto Bhagyo Bidhata was adopted as the national anthem of India by the constituent assembly of India.
